The True Average Penis Size

It’s been long of our interest what is the average penis size around the world or even separate by country. In this article I will present you a lot of data about penis size from many points of view. Currently, if you search for the answer around the net then you will find out most of them are out dated. You’ll find some unrealistic data like North Korea has the smallest penis size of 3.7 inches. Which is totally impossible if you really think about it. These are old data that has spread through out the internet and used as a reference for hundreds of times.

First of all, there are 2 kinds of data. One is from the medical research, while this seems reliable, it wasn’t stated if the measurement was done by bone pressed (BP) or non bone pressed (NBP). Another type is data gathered from around penis related forums.

In our database right now the average penis size around the world is

Average penis length (bone pressed) : 5.16 inches

Average penis girth (mid shaft) : 4.59 inches

The above study is from BJU international in 2014 (which considered quite new.) The team reviewed 17 studies of penile size measurements involving up to 15,521 men aged 17 and older. All men had the length and circumference, or girth, of their penis measured by health professionals while it was flaccid and erect.

I presented the above data and roughly concluded it was a average because the size of sample is really high. However, please note that different studies did have different results.

I have gathered data from penis relevant forums and found out that average erect length is 6.35 inches and average erect girth is 4.99 inches. This is from 7661 men measured bone pressed. Sure this is self reported data which could be exaggerate.

Dig more and I found a high quality study where drug were injected to induce 100% erection so their numbers can’t be dismissed as too low due to measurement anxiety. The studies reported average erect lengths ranging from 5.35” BPEL to 5.88” NBPEL

Does the penis size important to women?

In previous section I showed you the variation of penis size between polls. But why exactly are we studying this for? Is it because of anxiety? Or is it because in reality penis size matters? If you ask this question directly to any women you find, most of the times the answer would be NO it doesn’t matter. However, many studies and polls have generated a totally different conclusion.

This study in the PLOS One journal, the researchers interviewed 75 sexually active women about penile size they prefer if they must have a one-night stand and for a long term relationship. 3D printed penis models were made out of blue plastic so as not to suggest a race.

In this study the size preferred most by women was an erect penis that is 6.4 inches long and 5 inches in girth for a one night stand. For a long-term relationship, however, the average size preferred is a bit smaller. That is 6.3 inches in length with a circumference of 4.8 inches. As you can see both of these choices were slightly above average than our previous data.

Moreover, if you take a look at this poll survey, you’ll find that most women really enjoy men with bigger penis. One of the questions ask “If you had a choice to have sex with an average looking and built man with a large penis and a HOT looking man with a small penis which would you choose?” And you know what the majority answers are “The average looking men with huge penis.”

Another question is “Do you honestly think bigger feels better and more visually sexually stimulating than smaller or modest sized penises?” And the answer is “Yes” for 84%

penile size

As you can see from the poll, penis size matters so if you doubt about your size being too small. You can always find a way to enlarge it. This is common in our community and having small ones could lead to a self esteem issues or feeling of insecurity even though there is nothing to be ashamed of. In this website many tools like penis pumps or extenders are reviewed to help you increase the size of your penis. We reviewed only the work ones if it doesn’t work we will not review it, that’s the rule here. If you are just starting out and want to do manual penis exercises then it is a good way to get started.

Penile Measurement Errors

Even though there are tons of researches and studies, there is a big margin of error when measuring penis size to get the average penis size. This is because of multiple factors can affect penile’s erection which mostly connected to mental, mood, age, etc.

How to Measure a Penis Properly

We can measure a penis when it is erect or flaccid. Most of the time we will focus on erect and sometime we will focus on flaccid stretch. The different in these two is usually around 0.5 inches. Some people will have erect penis longer than flaccid stretch and some will have flaccid stretch longer than erect. This is completely normal and you don’t need to be panic.

To measure your penis length use a ruler. Press a ruler against your public bone and place it on your penis. Measure from the pelvic bone to the tip of your penis and record, this is what we called Bone pressed erect length (BPEL). You can repeat when you’re flaccid then stretch it to get Bone pressed flaccid stretch length (BPFSL).
To measure your penis girth use a tape measure. Simply wrap the tape around mid-shaft of your penis or at the base or the top of your penis. Also record this as you need to have reference to where are you measuring (base girth, mid-shaft girth)

  1. I read that the average pubic fat is 1.21 inches among all fat and slim adults. Does that mean that the Non bone pressed averagw is 5.12-1.21=3.91 inches erect in the western world ?

  2. I think the NBP average is 4.09 +1.12=5.21 ( maybe 3.5-4.5 is average erect length )

    • I really would love to get the data of none bone pressed erect length between each country.
